Context
xERP explores a multi-company inventory and point-of-sale platform. A central requirement is maintaining clear boundaries between each company’s data while supporting everyday operational workflows.
My contribution
The scope covers MVP architecture, workflow planning, a data model, permissions, reporting, and recovery requirements. My contribution focused on architecture and planning.
Architecture priorities
- Company-level separation through tenant-isolated databases.
- Roles and permissions aligned with operational responsibilities.
- Inventory and point-of-sale workflows defined together.
- Reporting and recovery considered as part of the initial requirements.
Why the planning matters
The value of an architecture phase is making boundaries and decisions explicit before implementation. Data ownership, access control, and recovery behavior affect the whole product and deserve attention before individual screens are built.
